6/16/11 and Memorial Day Bass

A little late on this post. Fished Memorial day with 3 fisherman out of the back of the boat. Ended up with an assortment of 16 different fish on the troll in about 20 feet of water. Caught largemouth, spots, catfish, whitebass, and drum. Biggest bass was around 16.5 inches. Fish did not start to move until about 10:30am, then we were busy.

Went to Nickajack last night and fished it for the first time in several years. Launched out of Marion County park. Fished with David M. and ended up catching 4 fish. A slow night with the full moon upon us. Marked lots of fish on the main lake and looks to be a loaded lake with quality fish.

Bass are moving good on Chickamauga. Twenty+ bass, 1.5 to 3.5 lb in a late afternoon trip. Most on the cast with a new lure and 2-3 on the troll. Weather and water stable. Not CBA fish, but really fun. Women seem to catch bigger fish, huh!

5 lbs. Smallmouth and 5 lb. Largemouth 4.6.10

Its not often that you get a day like today. We fished crankbaits below the dam and found the smallmouth! We ended up with 18 fish total. The bag was mixed with whitebass, smallmouth, and largemouth. No big stripers, yet! We fished at 6:30-10:30 am with sunny skies and water temps. around 57F. The biggest treat of the day was catching a 5lbs largemouth bass and a 5.5lb. smallmouth. This is rare and great to share it with my dad and two boys. We fished right up by the dam in 6-10 feet. Fish were feeding early and then the movement died off. A great and blessed morning to be on the water!

4.5.10 Harrison Bay Black Crappie

Caught 19 fish total tonight. Water temps. were 72F and record heat with sunny skies and 90F outside. Half the fish were crappie and the other half were little yellow stripers. 7 of the crappie were nice sized and keepers. Fished in about 6 feet of water slow trolling jig adjacent to some deep water. JP helped by pointing us in the right direction and showing us some productive water. Thanks JP.....Jeremy

Got on the lake for a little while late Tuesday afternoon. The sun felt good but the lake seemed dead til 6pm. Picked up 5-6 pretty good fish on the breakline in the next hour trolling. I could not catch them casting? The only lm was 5lb and the others were pretty spots all loaded with eggs.

3.25.10 Crappie 30+

Fished with my father-in-law and 2 boys on Thursday. Ended up catching 30+ crappies with 10 being keepers over 10". Had a couple of real nice big ones in the mix. Twice had 3 rods out of the 5 we were trolling with fish hitting our jigs. Have been fishing real slow with jigs, but the Crappie are still deep. 11-15 feet has been the depth. Also fished last Saturday and had another 30+ day while keeping 11. Crappie fishing is only going to get better as the water warms up. Water temps were in the high 50's (58F).

Smallmouth below Chick 3-23-10

Ken and I fished below Chickamauga Tuesday morning and had good luck with smallmouth. The water temp was 50 degrees and 26k cfs thru the turbines was decent flow. We had 5 smallies over 4lb with the two largest 4.5lbs. They were caught at 13-14 feet on a slow troll. The next 2-4 weeks could have good smallmouth fishing below almost any TVA dam.
